Monika Bullette is a singer/songwriter/musician based in Delaware, USA. After a few years lying low after the breakup of her band NERO (whose members went on to form Philadelphia's The Situation), Monika was inspired by the concepts and realities of secrets, loss, waiting, anticipating, lust, and love and wrote and performed the songs that form her debut "solo" album. Co-produced and engineered with Hangnail Phillips, "The Secrets" has been available for free and legal download online since 5/5/05 and has garnered effusive international reviews and grateful listeners.
Surrounding herself with music, Bullette has as diverse influences as Nick Cave, Mark Bolan, Alex Chilton, Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood, Marilyn Manson, Syd Barrett, Françoise Hardy, and Lotte Lenya. In a bid to become the first independent artists to reach success without a recording contract and by using the Internet as her town crier, she offers these songs to you.
