Roadside Zoo
Once playing local house and fraternity parties around the University of Michigan, Roadside Zoo has grown into a regionally touring funk explosion. Roadside Zoo prides themselves on "getting the party started", and whether it's covers or originals, their own brand of improvisational funk keeps the party going all night long. They've shared the stage with Ekoostik Hookah, MOFRO, Addison Groove Project, the Big Wu, been featured in Relix magazine, and they recently performed at the 10,000 Lakes Festival along with the likes of Trey Anastasio, the Black Crowes, and G. Love, to name a few. Roadside Zoo is creating a buzz wherever they play.
The band is perhaps best described as funk-rock, though their music also encompasses elements from jam music and is coupled with a pop sensibility. Their music is tight, complex, danceable, and always accessible. They pride themselves on positivity while not sounding cliched.
Currently, Roadside Zoo is touring the Midwest with the aid of their first full-length CD, "Caleb Coolville." Armed with 12 amazing songs, this hour-long disc is already catching amazing reviews.

Perhaps they are best described by Roger LeLievre of the Ann Arbor News, when he says, "[Roadside Zoo is] every bit as concerned with laying down an irresistible funk-rock dance groove as they are making solid, original music that engages the brain as well as the booty."
